Teaching in the Real World

I have a very good reason why I haven't blogged lately. It's called Practicum. This is similar to Student Teaching where I'm partnered with a teacher and become her aid! I was assigned to first grade. Today was my very first day, and it was pretty biopolar. 23 little children looking up at me about gave me a heart attack.

I know I love children. I prefer their company over adults sometimes, I can't lie. They're just so loving and excited about life. I have a bad habit of feeling inadequate as soon as a meet a person, but what I love is that never happens with kids. Even though I love children, I just realized (and you might think I'm crazy that this is JUST hitting me after three years of schooling) that I'm actually teaching these children and I'm terrified. I have been preparing and preparing for this moment, and find none of it is truly comforting me. However, I feel confident that the more experience I get, the more comfortable I will be.

In other news, no photos this time. There are plenty on my camera, and one day I'll download them. Brent is doing another Lazyman Ironman (doing an Ironman in one month)

Ironman=
2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run, raced in that order and without a break

Pretty impressive that people do that in one day right? I think a month is a much better time frame.

Also, Brent and I have made a lot of really good food this month. Sometimes, I don't want to be anywhere near the kitchen. Other times, you can't get me out of it. This month has been the later.

Recipes of this month:

Creamy pasta! (I did NOT add the cream. I did a tablespoon of sour cream and it was fantastic. Also, add some red pepper flakes, the spice is sooooo fun)

Easy easy curry. It's a sweeter curry, but very good!
